#TheIconicDDO and Founder of Dayo Olomu Foundation, Dr Dayo Olomu endorsed ProjectSouls4Soles at the prestigious Radisson Blu in Canary Wharf London on December 3rd 2016 in the presence of guests from all across the UK as Project Souls4Soles held its 1st Annual Charity Gala.
In her opening address, ProjectSouls4Soles founder and publisher Fotoreel international magazine. Olayinka Olawore urged guests to look beyond the grandeur of the event venue as only then would they be able to get a clear picture of the charitable work that her team carries out in Nigeria and which is a sharp contrast to the ambience of the evening.
She pointed out that it is a collective shame that a child some where in Africa walks the streets barefoot and hungry while we turn a blind eye and enjoy the privilege of having to deliberate on what shoes to wear from a collection of tens and sometimes hundreds of shoes.
Sharing his own experience as a youngster hawking barefoot on the streets of Lagos, Nigeria while anchoring the fund raising segment of the event, the renowned motivational speaker, Dr Dayo Olomu urged guests to donate generously. He stressed the need for everyone to be their brothers’ keepers and reach out to the less privileged in the society. He pointed out that no good deed ever goes unrewarded.
ProjectSouls4Soles ambassador/ Miss Ghana UK 2011 1st runner up; Ms Edma Ohema Lawer expressed her gratitude on being appointed to represent the charity while reiterating the need for everyone to be more giving. She promised to leave no stones unturned in the bid to end child poverty or at least alleviate it.
Speaking further on the charity, its founder Ms Olayinka Olawore expressed her gratitude for the immense support the charity has had from sponsors and friends. She stated that in its eleven months existence the charity has with the support of its numerous private sponsors given out over 5000 pairs of shoes in schools across Lagos and Ogun States in Nigeria. In her words ‘projectSouls4Soles has a main objective and that is to ensure that by the turn of the century there’s a pair of shoes on the feet of every African child’.
In line with its other objectives she stated shoes are sourced locally from market women in any area where the charity is having a distribution event, this she states is to provide income for the women and thereby empowering them.

Sultry gospel singer Idowu Eyin was on hand to serenade guests with her gospel renditions: R&B artists BayoBayz and DeeQ also entertained guests while London’s finest DJ Kashifdaflash added even more fun.
The charity raised over £4568 pounds towards its work and 140 pairs of shoes were pledged.
